Why the Academy?

At the Montessori Academy of Chicago, we provide a foundation for academic and personal excellence and encourage the love of learning inherent in every student through participation and engagement. Experienced, Montessori-certified teachers ensure each student’s success in a caring and structured environment, which includes:

  • Special emphasis on global concepts.
  • Child-sized tools – from furniture to flatware – encouraging self-reliance.
  • Self-correcting classroom materials specialized for each level of development.
  • Fresh, organic lunch and snack delivery program catered locally by Organic Life.
  • In-school, child-safe gourmet kitchen for student meal preparation and lessons.
  • Low student-teacher ratio for a tailored program.
  • Regular, student-led service projects to strengthen our communities.
  • State-of-the-art facility conveniently located in Chicago’s West Loop.
  • Premium education programming for ages six weeks through twelve years.

The Academy was established by Bill and Fosca White in 2005 in response to the lack of high-quality full-time childcare and educational options for their two young sons. The school opened in the West Loop with 43 students and now welcomes nearly 200 students to its facility on a daily basis. The White family is committed to maintaining a staff of the finest Montessori teachers available and continues to expand the school’s educational offerings.

Our individualized curriculum and commitment to helping teach your child will lay the foundation for their success. This is a charge our founders and staff take very seriously. Our school remains the only Montessori program in Chicago serving children six weeks through three years of age on a full-time basis and is also the only Montessori school offering year-round education for children ages three to twelve.
